ALA Infusion - $99
Alpha lipoic acid (250mg in 250ml D5W) is described by the National Institute of Health as the "antioxidant of all antioxidants." It is best known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects secondary to its effectiveness with respect to reducing oxidative stress. Also known as thioctic acid, ALA is produced naturally in mitochondria and is essential for its potent antioxidant effects. Its unique ability to cross the blood brain barrier provides a means to augment treatment for a number of neurologic disease, particularly peripheral neuropathy. ALA occurs naturally in animal muscle, heart, liver, kidney as well as vegetable sources such as broccoli, tomatoes, peas, and Brussel sprouts.
